The trip to New York was a very interesting one. Met a lot of high-profile marketers, sat in a couple of great sessions, and talked to many ad network people. Some observations:
- CPA is really on the rise these days
- Online marketers are really international nowadays. The conference had both lots of local people from around NY, many more Americans, but also people from Canada, UK, Poland, France, Switzerland (several!), Singapore, Australia, Israel, and Russia. And thats just the ones I talked to.
- Google’s image is not what it was a few years ago. They’ve seriously lost some sympathies among professional advertisers. At least those with less than $100 million a year AdWords spending. It’s hard to come up with a company with worse customer service. Maybe ZangoCash?
- Need a LOT more business cards next time
- New York is really hot in summer
- ShareASale hosts great cocktail parties
- A Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR is a very fun drive!
